| Introduction to Computers | Your computer does not have to be a mystery. In this class, you will learn about the basic elements of the computer and many of the types of work it can do for you. The session includes a terrific introduction to Windows XP and comes with a detailed course manual. This class is designed to help users with little or no computer experience feel comfortable with computers and navigate through Windows XP with confidence. |
| Microsoft Access 2003 – Advanced | In this course, student will extend their knowledge into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities.
Who Should Attend: Access 2003: Level 2 is designed for the student who wishes to learn intermediate and advanced operations of the Microsoft Access Database program. The Level 3 course is for the individual whose job responsibilities include working with heavily related tables; creating advanced queries, forms, and reports; writing macros to automate common tasks; and performing general database maintenance. | Microsoft Excel – Advanced | In this course, students will learn how to automate common tasks, apply advanced analysis techniques to more complex data sets, collaborate on worksheets with others, and share Excel data with other applications.
Who Should Attend: This course was designed for students desiring to gain the skills necessary to create macros, collaborate with others, audit and analyze worksheet data, create PivotTables and PivotCharts, incorporate multiple data sources, and import and export data. In addition, the course is also for students desiring to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist exam in Excel 2003 or Module 2-Key Applications of the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) exam, and who already have knowledge of the basics of Excel, including how to create, edit, format, and print worksheets that include charts and sorted and filtered data. Who Should Attend: This course is designed for students who desire to gain the skills necessary to work with design templates, organizational charts, special effects, Web presentations, collaboration functionality, and advanced presentation delivery, or students who desire to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist exam in Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® 2003 and who already have knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, including slide formatting, working with tables, images, and objects, charting data, and presentation preparation. | Microsoft Word – Intermediate | In this course, students increase the complexity of their Microsoft Office Word 2003 documents by adding components such as customized lists, tables, charts, and graphics. They also create personalized Microsoft Office Word 2003 efficiency tools.
Who Should Attend: This course was designed for persons who can create and modify standard business documents in Microsoft Office Word 2003, and who need to learn how to use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to create or modify complex business documents as well as customized Word efficiency tools. | myUFL Basics | This hands-on session will provide participants with the basic skills necessary to navigate and personalize myUFL. Topics will include signing in, menu navigation, myUFL security roles, group boxes, adding and deleting rows, searching, and much more. |
| Typing/Keyboarding – Basic | Instruction on computer keyboards is designed to teach basic keyboarding skills, focusing on proper technique as well as achieving speed and accuracy. This class is structured for beginners, but it also can be valuable for those who need a refresher or who are seeking to advance current typing skills. The student will be expected to complete lessons on his or her own between sessions. Timings will be recorded during each session to track improvement. The course uses a computer typing program. |
